Privacy policy

This page explains what data StartSmart Business Solutions L.L.C-FZ (“StartSmart”, “we”, “us”) collects when you use this site and the customer portal, what we do with it, and your rights.

1. Data we collect

• Diagnostic submissions — name, email, phone (optional), country of residence, business description, jurisdiction/setup preference, timeline, and budget range. You provide this when you complete the diagnostic.
• Partner applications — name, email, company, requested referral code.
• Attribution cookies — `ss_ref` (partner referral code), `ss_utm` (campaign source), `ss_sid` (anonymous session id). 60-day expiry. HttpOnly, SameSite=Lax.
• Server logs — IP address, user agent, timestamps, error context. Retained for 30 days.

2. How we use it

• To prepare a personalised proposal in response to your diagnostic.
• To verify partner referrals and attribute signups for commission.
• To investigate technical issues and improve the product.
• Where you give us a phone number, we may contact you by phone or WhatsApp about your proposal. We never contact you for unrelated marketing.

3. Sharing

We share data only with vendors operating under written contract on our behalf — currently Supabase (Postgres + auth), Vercel (hosting), Resend (transactional email), and our internal Zoho CRM/Books/Projects. We do not sell or rent personal data. We do not run advertising-based retargeting on our visitors.

4. Retention

Diagnostic submissions are kept indefinitely as a record of customer enquiries. You can request deletion at any time — see below. Partner data is kept while the partner relationship is active and for 2 years after termination, for tax-record reasons.

5. Your rights

You can request a copy of your data, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Email info@startsmart.ae. We respond within 30 days.

6. Cookies and analytics

We use the cookies named above for attribution and session tracking — strictly necessary, no advertising trackers. We may add privacy-respecting analytics (Vercel Analytics, Plausible) that count pageviews without identifying individuals.
